About Pete Kiehart



Pete Kiehart is a visual journalist living in San Francisco, California. He is currently a visuals editor and photographer for The San Francisco Chronicle. In the past 5 years he has worked as a photographer, editor, producer, production assistant, writer and designer. He also spent some time as a bike mechanic and lifeguard. His past work experience includes The Durham (NC) Herald-Sun, The Columbus Dispatch, CNN, and at Reportage by Getty Images. Pete has done freelance work for Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, The Wall Street Journal, PARADE, PBS, Meredith Corporation and ESPN.COM.
 
Pete has also maintained a close relationship with the Eddie Adams Workshop since attending the Sixteenth Workshop as the High School Photographer of the Year. He has supported the workshop in numerous positions including as a member of the faculty in 2010.

Pete holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University. Before transferring to Duke, he spent two years studying at Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication.

When not working with photography and photographers, Pete enjoys playing with bicycles, traveling, and making people laugh. He is available for freelance work and projects on a limited basis.
